Chicago artist Mary Ellen Croteau collected recycled 7000 + plastic bottle caps to tile, layer and juxtapose each cap in order to create a self-portrait mosaic titled “CLOSE“. The portrait, which measures seven feet by eight feet, takes its inspiration and title from the self-portraiture of Chuck Close. Croteau has posted instructions for aspiring bottle cap artists.
